What is WhereToChat.us?

WhereToChat.us is a customer support chat platform powered by Chatwoot. Unlike traditional Chatwoot hosting, we offer pay-as-you-go metered billing, so you only pay for what you use instead of a fixed monthly fee.

How does pricing work?

Instead of paying $19+ per agent per month, we charge based on usage. Pricing is simple and flexible:

Is support included if I run into issues?

No, we don’t provide support. We built this site, not the software itself. It is open source, and we simply loaded it as-is. We use it daily for our own business, so if something breaks, we’ll know. We are not in the software business and are just offering an affordable option for those who need more than a basic free plan from other providers. You can prepay in $50 increments and use it over a long period, potentially a year or more. We are still finalizing the details, but support is not included. A paid support option may be available in the future, or you may need to subscribe at the original source if you require support.

How does metered billing work?

Every message, conversation, or agent activity is logged. At the end of each billing cycle:

  • We total up your usage-based fees.
  • Stripe bills you automatically.
  • You can view detailed usage in your dashboard.
What happens if I don’t pay?

If payment fails, you’ll get a grace period before chat services are paused. You'll receive multiple notifications before that happens.

Can I see my usage in real time?

Yes! The dashboard shows real-time message counts, conversation history, and agent activity, so you always know what you’re paying for.

Is there a free tier?

❌ No. Sorry. But you only pay for what you use.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept credit/debit cards via Stripe.

Is there a contract or commitment?

No! Pay-as-you-go. No contracts. No long-term commitment. You can stop anytime.

Can I switch to a fixed-price plan later?
